Alpaca & Llama Shearing in Florida
Experienced, gentle alpaca and llama shearing for fiber farms, hobby herds, and agritourism operations across Florida.
Alpacas and llamas can't shed their fiber on their own. In Florida, an unshorn camelid in summer is a heat stroke risk.
Most professional shearers are based out-of-state and only come through Florida once a year. If you miss the window, you're stuck.
Boomer Husbandry is Florida-based and available year-round. We've been shearing alpacas and llamas since 2019, serving fiber farms, hobby herds, and agritourism operations across the state. Gentle handling, clean shearing, and we come to you.

Alpaca & Llama Shearing in Florida: FAQ
In Florida, most alpacas should be shorn by late spring - ideally March through May - before the summer heat becomes dangerous. Because we're Florida-based, we can accommodate earlier or later timing if needed.

We understand that fiber quality matters - especially for farms selling fleece or yarn. Our shearing technique minimizes second cuts and keeps the fleece clean for processing.
Yes. Contact us with your herd size and we'll provide per-head pricing. Larger herds get better rates.
It depends on herd size and animal temperament. A small hobby herd of 5-10 alpacas typically takes 2-3 hours. Larger herds we can discuss scheduling in advance.
